This plant can refine up to 90 kg of silver/day to a purity of 999/1000 and consists of:
Electrolytic silver refining tanks
- n° 6 tanks - 275 lts. capacity each one
- Cathodes
- Filter bags to contain the silver anodes to be refined
- Electric steel contacts
- Automatic silver discharge device
- Each tank can refine 15 Kg of silver in 24 hours
- The tanks are positioned in a framework with stairs and gangway for automatic
discharge
Electrolytic tank
The IAAG electrolytic silver refining plant have a refining cell with a capacity of 275 lt of electrolyte solution
each one and can hold up to 10 ingots weighing 8 kg each. The production of pure silver is of 15 kg every 24
hours with 80 grams /litres of AgNO3.
The tank is provided with:
- Cathodes made up of polished stainless steel sheet;
- Filter bags made of anti-acid cloth to contain the silver anodes to be refined;
- Stainless steel electrical contacts;
- Trolley stirring mechanism provided with blades for the breakage of the irregular deposits;
- Suction hood equipped with door on hinges and connection pipe to the suction plant.
The electrolytic refining method for silver is the sole that can guarantee a purity of over 999.5. The units don’t
require any particular maintenance and can work in a continuous cycle. The silver to be refined needs to be
melted into an ingot/anode that can be hung on the anode bars and mustn’t have a purity below 700/1000.
- Re-circulation tank
- This tank is fitted with a pump to re -circulate the electrolytic solution
- Recovery tank
- This tank is placed underneath the silver discharge device and recovers the silver crystals
- IAAG rectifier
- 2500 A - 8 V for the IAAG silver refining tanks
